SHOOTING LEAVES ONE MALE DECEASED

The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting.

On April 3, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers from the Central Precinct responded to a report of a shooting near Shackleford Road and Steve Reynolds Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Xavier Tyler Stephens.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit, along with Crime Scene Investigators, responded to the scene to collect evidence and conduct interviews. The motive of the shooting is still being investigated.
