SHOOTING OUTSIDE LOCAL BAR LEADS TO ONE PERSON DEAD AND ONE ARRESTED

UPDATE #1: (Lawrenceville, Ga., Apr. 6, 2025) – After a thorough initial investigation, detectives have made an arrest in this case. Marcus Robinson, a 26-year-old man from Dacula, has been charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. He is being held at the Gwinnett County Jail with no bond.

The victim in this case has been identified as 21-year-old Jeffrey Gibson of Atlanta.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is dedicated to investigating violent crimes and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.

 

ORIGINAL: (Lawrenceville, Ga., Apr. 6, 2025) – The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a shooting at a local sports bar that resulted in the death of one man.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers assigned to the South Precinct were dispatched to a shooting at the Dillons Sports Bar at 850 Dogwood Road in unincorporated Lawrenceville. The caller reported that they were taking the victim to a local hospital with at least one gunshot injury.

When officers arrived at the incident location, they found two areas within the property with shell casings. One location is in the parking lot in front of the bar, and the other location is near a nail salon.

One person was taken into custody at the shooting location and is in the process of being interviewed by detectives.

Officers learned that the victim, a man in his early 20s, died as a result of his injuries at the hospital. The vehicle that the victim arrived in at the hospital has been impounded to headquarters for processing. The case is now being investigated as a Homicide. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.

The identity of the victim will be released following next-of-kin notification.
