Police Ping was on scene at 216 City Center Blvd Wednesday as Hazmat crews and fire fighters shut the street down and worked to clear the dangerous situation. The deputies, police and homeowner kept quiet the entire day as Police Ping asked questions but word got around fast on the details which seem to be blamed on post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
While copwatching Officer Lee pull a driver over for a little extortion (traffic ticket), there was a growing police presence across the street. Police Ping was told it was a "Hazmat Situation" as a group of Newport News police officers and sheriff deputies stood in the front home at 216 City Center Blvd.
Acording to property records, 216 City Center Blvd Newport News VA was recently sold to Statewide INC. on June 23, 2025. Ronald Ricks was listed as the previous home owner. It's unknown at this time if Ricks is the man in the video.
WATCH the video as crews descend on the one story home on a usually very busy street and shut the area down, forcing the homeowner and press across the road just in case the house explodes.
The new homeowner, Statewide INC is a local real estate agency and is run by Donald Carrithers. Carrithers is also listed as the key principal of Cozy Homes Management who was granted the eviction order and rights to the property on 08/04/2025 in Newport News civil court.
We haven't seen any criminal charges filed yet, this is a breaking story look for updates posted here as we get them.
