Homicide at 4500 Helen Street

On May 13, 2025, at about 8:45 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a stabbing call in the 4500 block of Helen Street. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found 83-year-old Verner Johnson, stabbed, at the location. Johnson died from his injuries.
The suspect, 21-year-old Derrick Wicker was arrested and charged with Murder.
