In February and April 2025, a joint operation was carried out by the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Homeless Outreach Team (H.O.T.) and Special Enforcement Team (S.E.T.), alongside loss prevention officers from two local businesses in the city of Moreno Valley. During the operation, seven individuals were arrested for theft-related offenses.

The suspects were identified as:

  • Mauricio Rodriguez, a 44-year-old resident of Moreno Valley
  • Manuel Gaytan-Vazquez, a 42-year-old resident of Fontana
  • Hector Flores, a 31-year-old resident of Moreno Valley
  • Leonard Weaver, a 44-year-old resident of Moreno Valley
  • Christopher Picazo, a 39-year-old resident of Moreno Valley
  • Samuel Santellan, a 42-year-old resident of Moreno Valley
  • Omar Torres, a 25-year-old resident of Moreno Valley

All suspects were later booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for theft-related charges.

The Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station is committed to addressing all criminal activities and will pursue legal action to the full extent of the law.
