Homicide at 5800 Bernal Drive

On April 20, 2025, at about 2 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 5800 block of Bernal Drive. The preliminary investigation determined that Maurisha Givens, 24, had been shot at the location by an unknown suspect. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene, where Givens died. This is an ongoing investigation and documented under case number 055197-2025.
