Homicide at 4800 Elsie Faye Heggins Street

On April 17, 2025, at about 7:25 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 4800 block of Elsie Faye Heggins Street. The preliminary investigation determined that 22-year-old Yantese Chappell had been shot at the location. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene, where Chappell died. This is an ongoing investigation, documented under case number 054010-2025.
