In December 2024, Lake Elsinore Station deputies responded to a call for service regarding the sales of marijuana vape pens to minors. The Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station Special Enforcement Team launched an in-depth investigation. The investigation revealed Michael Geck, an 18-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, was using social media applications to advertise and distribute marijuana and nicotine vape pens to minors.
On March 28, 2025, Geck was detained at his residence in the city of Lake Elsinore, and a residential search warrant was served at the location. During the service of the search warrant, approximately 400 Xanax bars, a half ounce of cocaine, 193 THC-infused vape pens, 36 nicotine vape pens, flavored nitrous oxide canisters, various bottles of promethazine, brass knuckles, and a large amount of US currency was located and seized.
Geck was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for selling marijuana and tobacco products to a person under the age of 21, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of brass knuckles, and selling marijuana without a license.
