West Springfield Police District– Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one woman dead in Lorton.
Yesterday at 5:14 p.m., officers responded to Ox Road and Davis Drive in Lorton for a crash. A 2012 Ford F350 towing a fishing boat was being driven northbound on Ox Road when the driver fell unconscious, crossed over the grass median, and struck a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze near Davis Drive head-on.
The driver of the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze, Michelle Davis, 33, of Lorton, was declared deceased on the scene. The driver of the Ford F350 was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminarily, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Detectives continue to investigate whether speed was a factor.
Victim specialists from our Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division responded to ensure the victim’s family receives appropriate resources and assistance.
