Detectives Investigate Fatal Crash in Lake Barcroft

Mason Police District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Lake Barcroft.

Yesterday at 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 6400 block of Lakeview Drive in Lake Barcroft involving a 2023 Tesla that left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, Ashraf Bhagat, 75, of Falls Church, was declared deceased on the scene. The passenger, Nazir Bhagat, 81, of Falls Church was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced deceased. Detectives are investigating whether speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
