In April 2025, deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station-Special Enforcement Team began an online undercover operation, posing as a 13-year-old female. During the investigation, a response was received from Ryan Hagen, a 45-year-old resident of Anaheim. During several weeks of communication with Hagen, he asked for sexually gratifying pictures and numerous sex acts and agreed to meet.

On April 16, 2025, Hagen was located in the city of Redlands, and with the assistance of the Redlands Police Department, he was arrested without incident. Several communication devices were also located and collected as evidence. Hagen was booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center for arranging to meet a minor with the intent of sexual acts, contacting a minor with intent to commit sexual acts, exhibiting, and sending harmful material to a minor, and attempting lewd acts with a minor. Hagen is being held on a $55,0000 bail.
