On Thursday, April 17, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., deputies from the Lake Mathews Sheriff's Station responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 1600 block of Jordana Circle, in the unincorporated area of Riverside, known as Lake Hills. The victim stated that he was attacked in his home by his son, 21-year-old Collin Adam Stewart, a resident of Lake Hills. The victim reported to dispatch that he had been assaulted with a machete and that Stewart had fled the residence.
While responding to the area deputies located a male at the intersection of La Sierra Avenue and McAllister Parkway. Deputies confirmed the male was Collin Adam Stewart and took him into custody without incident. Additional deputies responded to the victim's residence and provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lake Mathews Station investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. A search warrant was authored and served at the residence. Evidence was collected, including the machete used in the assault. Stewart was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for attempted murder. This investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
