Newport News, VA – Jacquese Ihienkonye has been arrested and charged with murder. He was taken into custody early Sunday evening at Riverside Hospital on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard. At the time of his arrest, Ihienkonye was already out on bond for one count of robbery involving the use of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery involving the use of a firearm. He was scheduled to appear in court on March 23 for a preliminary hearing related to those charges.

48-year-old Elvis Barrow, of Hampton, has been booked into the city jail following the shooting at the Motel 6 on J. Clyde Morris Blvd. Barrow is facing three felony charges stemming from an incident on February 14, 2026. The charges include First-Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony (1st Offense), and Possession of a Firearm by a Non-Violent Felon Within 10 Years.

Robert listed his place of employment as the Pediatrics at Oyster Point in the city of Newport News Virginia. Bob has been in the custody of the Newport News Sheriff's Office since May 9 when he turned himself in on outstanding warrants and is being held on a no bond status at the city jail. Dessoffy was charged with two counts each of aggravated sexual battery: victim <13 and indecent acts with child by a custodian. Z.E. MacDonald was listed as the arresting officer.
